About FORTE THEATRE COMPANY INC

Location:

8509 S GOLDEN LAKE WAY, PO Box 321422, FRANKLIN, WI 53132, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to produce year-round, professional theatre in Milwaukee’s suburbs, providing opportunities for growth in the arts for audiences and artists alike.

Description

Forte makes professional theatre accessible to audiences in the suburbs of Milwaukee. In a literal sense, we are physically and financially accessible to audiences who might not otherwise be able to take in professional theatre. In a metaphorical sense, we program with an eye on growing the theatre-going community with a combination of classic musicals and more recent works to broaden the scope of experience of our audiences. We are pleased to see a true multi-generational audience developing around Forte with grandparent / grandchild dates a common occurrence. Finally, our Forte Youth Productions truly educates a body of future professional and avocational actors and theatre-lovers alike.

Currently we produce two Mainstage (adult professional) and two Forte Youth productions per year. Our productions are staffed by theatre professionals from the Milwaukee area. We always pay our designers, choreographers, music directors and directors and adult actors for their work. Providing jobs in the arts is one of Forte’s values, and our retention of a corps of so-called Associate Artists demonstrates the positive experience that keeps our local talent coming back.
