Social Media Coordinator (Volunteer)
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week
About Florida Furry Friends:
Florida Furry Friends is a nonprofit animal rescue organization based in Jacksonville, FL. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, especially those with special needs. We rely on dedicated volunteers to help spread our message, increase pet adoptions, and engage with our community.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative volunteer Social Media Coordinator to help manage and grow our social media presence. This role will involve creating engaging content, promoting adoptable pets, and helping raise awareness of our mission. The Social Media Coordinator will play a vital role in shaping our online voice and fostering community engagement across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Responsibilities:
- Create and schedule engaging social media posts promoting adoptable pets, rescue updates, and upcoming events.
- Interact with followers, respond to inquiries, and engage with the online community.
- Monitor social media analytics to gauge the effectiveness of posts and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the rescue team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Assist with brainstorming new strategies to grow our social media audience.
- Stay up-to-date on animal rescue trends and social media best practices.
Requirements:
- Passion for animal rescue and a commitment to our mission.
- Experience with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Strong communication skills and creativity.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Previous experience in social media management or content creation is a plus, but not required.
