Are you passionate about making a difference in the community and in the lives of adults with autism? Madison Fields is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team and support our mission.

Volunteer Role: Barn Maintenance

When: Thursdays, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

What You'll Do:

- Groom our horses, ensuring they are well cared for and comfortable.

- Clean inside the barn and maintain the barn environment.

- Clean outside water troughs to ensure a fresh water supply for our horses.

- Muck the paddocks to maintain a clean and healthy living space for our animals.

- Assist with weeding to help keep our grounds well-maintained.

*Volunteers must be over the age of 13 to volunteer independently in our barn, and around the horses. No prior horse experience is required, we provide training to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your role*

Madison House Autism Foundation is dedicated to creating awareness of the lifespan challenges autistic adults and their families face; and to finding, developing, and promoting the solutions that allow adults with autism to make choices, live as independently as possible, hold jobs, feel connected to their communities and become participating members of our society. Madison Fields is a premiere community-based agricultural resource center where people of all ability can access opportunities for job readiness training, education, recreation and healing. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment where visitors can reconnect with themselves, one another, and the natural world.

OVERVIEW

Madison Fields is a project of Madison House Autism Foundation, a national 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The foundation was created in 2007 to address the lifespan challenges facing adults with autism. Madison Fields offers an exciting opportunity to model what is possible when we as a community empower people of all abilities to participate and contribute. At Madison Fields, we recognize the strength in a diverse, inclusive community working together to help one another achieve their greatest potential. It is our feeling that we all grow best when we are growing together.
