Join Us in Creating Change: Board Member Recruitment for Beyond Bias Foundation

The Beyond Bias Foundation is dedicated to dismantling systemic biases and promoting equity in all areas of society. Our mission is to create inclusive environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background. We envision a world free from discrimination, where diverse voices are heard and valued.

We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors.

Board Member Positions at BeyondBias Foundation

1. Board Member

  • Responsibilities: Provide leadership and governance, support the Executive Director, review organizational performance, and ensure compliance with legal and fiduciary responsibilities. Serve as an ambassador for the organization and contribute to fundraising efforts.

2. Vice President

  • Responsibilities: Support the Chair, take on Chair responsibilities when unavailable, and assist in officer transition plans. Work closely with the Chair and staff.

3. Committee Chair

  • Responsibilities: Set the tone for committee work, oversee operations, report to the Board Chair, and ensure effective communication within the committee. Lead the committee's annual evaluation.

4. Board Secretary

  • Responsibilities: Maintain records of Board activities, manage minutes of meetings, and ensure timely distribution of minutes. Familiarity with legal documents is essential.

5. Board Treasurer

  • Responsibilities: Oversee the organization’s finances, manage fiscal matters, and develop the annual budget for Board approval. Ensure adherence to financial policies.
General Responsibilities of Board Members
  • Agree on the organization’s mission and purpose.
  • Support the Executive Director and evaluate their performance.
  • Provide proper financial management and adequate resources for fulfilling the mission.
  • Maintain legal and ethical integrity, ensuring confidentiality and managing conflicts of interest.
  • Engage in organizational planning, recruit new Board members, and enhance the organization’s public standing.
Committees
  • Establish committees for complex issues, ensuring effective use of members' expertise.
  • Consider standing committees (ongoing) and ad hoc committees (temporary) for specific tasks.
