Would you like to virtually volunteer your time to uplift and support aspiring technologists? NCWIT is seeking hundreds of volunteers to help identify exceptional computer science students and educators by reviewing award applications.

The Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Awards annually recognize high school and college women, genderqueer, and nonbinary students in computer science, as well as formal and informal educators who play a pivotal role in encouraging high school women, genderqueer, and nonbinary students to explore their interests in computing.

By sharing your expertise through reviewing award applications, you can play a crucial role in recognizing outstanding individuals in computing.

Mission Statement

NCWIT convenes, equips, and unites more than 1,500 change leader organizations nationwide to increase the influential and meaningful participation of girls and women -- at the intersections of race/ethnicity, class, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and other historically marginalized identities -- in the field of computing, particularly in terms of innovation and development.

Description

NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) changes what’s possible for women, genderqueer, and non-binary students in technology from K-12 through career by offering the kind of encouragement that combats isolation, enables long-term persistence, opens doors, and changes lives. AiC uses program elements that recognize and celebrate students' technical aspirations and abilities, as well as the educators who support them (AiC Award Recognitions); and, provides an expansive, supportive network to help these computing students persist in the field (AiC Community).

AiC serves 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, all U.S. military bases overseas, and Canada.
