In addition to wanting to make a positive impact on local families, our Volunteer Drivers must:

  • Be at minimum of 21 years of age
  • Be licensed to drive for a minimum of 5 years
  • Own an automobile and possess a valid Class G driverʼs license
  • Maintain a vehicle in good working condition and show ongoing proof of insurance

Driving in your community

Our Volunteer Drivers primarily support children, youth and families in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. We offer a range of driving schedules during the day time, evening and weekends.

As a warm and welcoming member of our team you will:

  • Offer on-time door-to-door transportation service for children and youth, including sibling groups
  • Follow the rules of the road and ensure you have the appropriate carseats
  • Lift babies, small children, car seats and bags
  • Maintain confidentiality of children, youth and families
  • Communicate with our staff and complete administrative requirements

Volunteer Drivers with the Children's Aid Society of Toronto are reimbursed for mileage and cell phone use.

Supporting you, supporting families

When you begin as a Volunteer Driver, you'll be provided with a detailed orientation focused on our processes, procedures, equipment training, and how to support the unique needs of children and youth.
