About Mindset Math

Mission Statement
Mindset Math strives to reimagine and transform STEM education through innovative after-school programs designed for and by youth. We offer numerous projects: Mindful Mathletes (workshops combining psychological concepts and engaging math tasks), STEM & Stitches (intersection of crochet, hyperbolic geometry, and other sciences for the goal of climate change awareness), Around The World in 80 Math Problems (history, math, and kinesthetic elements), and more to come.
Description
Mindset Math was founded by two high school students frustrated with the way STEM subjects are usually taught in K-12 schools. Traditional pedagogical methods often reduce STEM education to rigid rules and procedures, emphasizing speed and correctness, and simplifying the subjects instead of demonstrating their complexity, creativity, and interconnections. Therefore, Mindset Math strives to reimagine and transform STEM education through innovative after-school programs designed for and by youth. We partner with high school leaders and nonprofits across the U.S. and globally to develop unique curricula and bring them to diverse schools and communities.
