About the Event:

The tallest monument in America will become the spookiest monument when the Gateway Arch transforms into a family-friendly Halloween party full of tricks and treats. Event attendees are encouraged to wear their best costumes* and participate in various Halloween-themed activities.

General admission to the family-friendly Halloween party is FREE, but advance registration is required, and space is limited. Haunted Tram Ride to the Top Tickets are available for purchase and include general admission.

Kids may want to bring some jokes (because that’s how St. Louis trick-or-treats) and we will supply gift bags for all to collect candy and non-candy treats throughout the evening!

Our Opportunity:

Volunteers at Frights & Heights assist staff in a variety of frightfully fun activities including:

  • Corner Bookmarks -The base of the bookmark will already be made. Volunteers assist by showing guests the stickers, craft paper and glue to finish the bookmark. (1 per guest)

  • Scratch off Rainbow Craft : Volunteers assist by showing guests the scratch off sticks to make the craft. Ribbons to tie on would be available if the guest would like one. (1 per guest)

  • Tattoo Station: Volunteers would assist by allowing one tattoo per guest and by providing water, sponges, and paper towels for guests to apply their tattoo.

  • Skeleton Bean Bag Toss (Corn Hole)-Volunteers assist guests by giving them the bean bags to toss. It may require bending down to pick up bean bags that are thrown.

  • Skeleton Puzzle -Volunteers assist guests by making sure the bones are taken apart. Guests would be putting the skeleton back together on a standing Velcro chart.

  • Giant I spy -The I spy will be a hanging banner. Volunteers pass out a recording sheet/pencils for guests to record the answers of how many of each I spy items there are. Guests will be able to check their answers to see if they are correct.

About the Gateway Arch National Park

Gateway Arch National Park is a part of the National Park Service with a mission to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Gateway Arch reflects St. Louis' role in the Westward Expansion of the United States during the nineteenth century. The park is a memorial to Thomas Jefferson's role in opening the West, to the pioneers who helped shape its history, and to Dred Scott who sued for his freedom in the Old Courthouse.
