PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a charity NGO operating in Fort Portal City, Kabarole district, Rwenzori region of Western Uganda. We advocate for the protection and promotion of the rights of children, youth and women and promoting general health. www.platformfortheneedy.org
Our focus areas include general health promotion, human rights advocacy, and education for needy children, youth and women empowerment, livelihoods, peace building and conflict resolution,
environment conservation, Gender Based Violence, Domestic Violence, and Reproductive Health.
PLANE is seeking to recruit a passionate and committed generous volunteer as Organization Development Manger PLANE.
As an organization Development Manager you will be charged with the duty of running the daily activities of PLANE's development programs supporting in the development of goals and strategies for all fundraising campaigns, plan, budget and implement marketing programs and special events to maximize prospect/donor engagement.
Your duties and responsibilities include:
- Marketing and promoting the organization’s brand mission using various platforms to increase visibility.
- Content writing for the website, blog and social media platforms. Motivation/inspirational health and advocacy video messages.
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organization.
- Promote the spirit of volunteering through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns.
- Recruit, interview volunteers, brand ambassadors (Ambassadors of PLANE Rwenzori) and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position and organise profile-raising events to attract new volunteers.
- Mobilize and manage donors, budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of expenses.
- Establish partnerships with multiple agencies across different sectors in order to establish good working relationships to influence decisions about volunteering and partnership formation(Churches, schools, colleges, universities, corporate companies, foundations, individual investors etc)
- Generate income, write funding bids, organize fundraising events and raise funds to make projects sustainable.
Plan and budget together with Management and Executive Board, Monitor and evaluate project activities and write reports for funders and Executive Board.
This is a voluntary part- time position. You will not receive salary or wages but in the future the organization plans to offer a wage and reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out your voluntary service.
