Fundraising Volunteer Needed

Do you have passion to volunteer? PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is looking for fundraising Volunteers to help on fundraising for the organization’s programs for vulnerable children, youth and women projects.

This opportunity is as well open to Individuals and groups with passion to contribute towards the wellness and betterment of needy children, youth and women in the rural communities of Western Uganda.

The Fundraising volunteer will have the opportunity to support the development department in mobilizing and raising funds for our work.

About PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE)

PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a Non-Governmental Organization, NOT for profit operating in the Kabarole district, Rwenzori region, advocating and protecting children and women’s rights through provision of prevention and multi-disciplinary intervention in investigation and information dissemination through radio drama and outreaches so as to have a health -violence free society.

PLANE aims at undertaking collective action for promoting general Health and Reproductive Health Awareness Campaigns on Family Planning.

Your duties will include:

  • Conduct Research and identify potential funders/partners.
  • Identifying funding opportunities for the organization.
  • Conducting prospect research and updating donor profiles.
  • Carrying out fundraising campaigns to raise funds for the execution of Organization programs and projects.
  • Writing grants and Letter Of Interest to support the organization work.
  • Developing the online donation programs.
  • Support identifying grants and building sustainable relationships with donor partners.
  • Support in fundraising from small trusts and foundations.
  • Draft a donor/ partners’ data base; maintain the initial correspondence with potential donors and supporters.
  • Recruiting ambassadors to spread the message about the organization programs.
  • Share our campaign links to groups and partners to create more awareness
  • Regular follow up of the donor contacts.
  • Draft funding applications and performance reports.
  • Review supporters’ engagement and updating on the progress.
  • Draft appreciation communication messages thanking them for the work done.
  • Design certificates of appreciation and rewards to the donors and partners
  • Will support with planning fundraising events and drafting compelling funding communication materials.
  • Maintain up‐to‐date filing systems, both manual and electronic as appropriate.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to work independently and manage his/her time.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize organization’s needs.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to summarize, edit information, arrange and present it in clear and compelling manner.
  • Research, writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Flexible team player.
  • Be generous and passionate to needy communities
  • Self-motivated and able to balance the boat.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities..
  • Dependable, reliable, honest & trustworthy.

Qualifications:

  • Should be 18 years old and above.
  • Have access to a computer for this volunteer project.
  • Have online knowledge and skills
  • University degree/diploma or equivalent required.
  • High knowledge in English (spoken, written and reading).
  • Computer Literacy and experience with Fundraising Platforms, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Microsoft teams and Skype.
  • Has knowledge of setting up campaign causes on crowd funding platforms

WORKING SCHEDULE:

  • 2 hours per day.
  • Monday to Friday unless with urgency.
  • All duties will be done on remote/home
  • Weekly online meetings with PLANE staff and Volunteer briefings will be done online.
  • Meetings will be arranged according to the time zone and schedules on the volunteer to avoid inconveniences.
  • This Volunteer opportunity will run for a year.
