You are invited to volunteer for the Down Syndrome Association 18th Annual Step Up for Down Syndrome 5k and Family Festival on Saturday October 12th, 2024.
Join the Virginia Down Syndrome Association as we unite for a common cause and raise funds during the 18th Annual Step UP for Down Syndrome 5K, 1 mile family walk & Family Festival! Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, take the first step and volunteer by donating your time today! Help us spread the word and celebrate all the amazing individuals with Down syndrome!
This event includes a 5k run, a 1 mile family walk, family festival activities, and community resource fair. There will be food trucks, stage performances by individuals of all abilities, community resource fair, kids’ zone, arts and crafts and so much more. You will not want to miss this opportunity to volunteer! Event is rain or shine
Many volunteers are needed to support this event, including before, during and after the festivities.
Volunteers ages 15 and older on the day of their shift are welcome to sign up.
All volunteers interacting with our participants on Saturday October 12th will receive a free T-shirt unless you have one from last year so make sure to sign everyone individually.

Donations to the Virginia Down Syndrome Association make an immediate impact in our local community that you can see and feel when you meet our members. We are committed to reaching and serving all individuals with Down syndrome and their families in our community to support everyone on their unique journey with individualized needs and differences.
Membership at the Virginia Down Syndrome Association is free. We are committed to providing support to all individuals with Down syndrome in our community as well as their family caregivers, guardians, grandparents, professionals, and siblings.
