Community Music School Event Support Needed

Community Music Center (CMC), a nonprofit music school in located in San Francisco's Misison District since 1921, recently opened our expanded and newly renovated campus. We are inviting special guests and donors to tour the new building with a President's Reception Sunday, September 22.

We will need friendly and outgoing volunteers from 1-4pm to assist with the following tasks:

  • 1-2pm set up tables for check-in and refreshments and do general training
  • 2-4pm event has 2 roles:
    • Check-in Table: welcoming folks, handing out name tags and maps
    • Info Guide: stationed in various parts of the new building to give brief info about whatever part of the building they are in as guests explore. We'll provide scripts for you.

Description

Community Music Center (CMC), founded in 1921, is a nonprofit music school and performance space with branches in the Mission and Richmond Districts. CMC makes high-quality music accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, regardless of financial means. CMC provides the largest tuition assistance program of its kind in the country, awarding $2.9 million in tuition assistance last year and serving more than 3,300 students. The school offers classes in a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, blues, Latin, pop, folk, rock, and western classical.
