We need help getting bread picked up every Tuesday and Friday morning. This route is in Indianapolis and will take about 2 hours to complete. Upon arrival at Midwest Food Bank if empty bread trays have not been loaded onto the truck you will needd to load. At the bakery you will unload the empty trays and then fill the truck with full bread trays to bring back to Midwest Food Bank. We would like this to be a two person team so if you have a friend great, let's sign them up. If not, we will look to partner you with another volunteer when possible This is a weekly occurence.

Mission Statement

As a faith-based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world and providing disaster relief; all without discrimination.

Description

Midwest Food Bank volunteers are more than our hands and feet; they are fundamental to the success of our organization. We are structured to provide service opportunities and operate through the work of volunteers. They collect, sort, pack, and distribute food and disaster relief donations and remind us every day that our mission could not be achieved without them.

In 2021, more than 25,000 volunteers put in over 317,000 hours of service, the equivalent of over 158 full-time employees. The service of these dedicated volunteers allows Midwest Food Bank to operate efficiently while keeping administrative costs low. They gain the unique perspective that worldwide hunger is prevalent, and their efforts can make a difference.
