DDI's Fall Festival Walk in the Park wil be held at the Holtsville Ecology Center on Sunday, October 10th.

Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) is a multi-site non-profit serving more than 1,700 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities each day and employing 1,600 staff members. DDI’s programs and services span from birth through adulthood and are as diverse as those we serve. We provide educational, vocational, respite, residential and transportation programs, as well as service coordination support. Our dedicated staff work to ensure that those we proudly serve receive every opportunity to live a rich and meaningful life.

Description

In 1966, a small group of parents was influential in opening a school that would address the special education and therapeutic needs of their children characterized as autistic and/or having developmental disabilities. Since then, DDI has expanded considerably. Six main campuses, located in Smithtown, Huntington, Medford, Riverhead, and Ronkonkoma, and 26 Residential and Day Habilitation sites serve over 1500 families through our programs.
