ORGANIZATION: Stepping Stones Museum for Children

Puppetry Arts is responsible for the creation of unique deliverables each week for Puppet Place floor programs, pop-up experiences, and mainstage productions.

The Puppet Lab benefits from consistent volunteers from diverse backgrounds, who are receptive to hands-on, fabrication tasks within a scaffolded learning structure informed by SEE Learning.

· Develop fine motor skills and creative expression through paper mache and clay sculpting.

· Enhance pattern recognition and spatial planning through cardboard sculpture and patterning tasks.

· Gain practical sewing skills, both machine and hand, improving hand-eye coordination and precision.

· Foster creativity and patience by engaging in the step-by-step process of puppet construction and feedback sessions.

The mission of Stepping Stones Museum for Children is to broaden and enrich the educational opportunities for children ages ten and under and to enhance their understanding of the world. To achieve its mission, the museum builds collaborations and pursues strategies that welcome all families to join in the Stepping Stones learning community. As a multidimensional resource, the museum offers exhibits, programs and services that take an interactive approach to promote early learning.

Description

Stepping Stones Museum for Children is an award-winning children's museum committed to broadening and enriching the lives of children. Museum exhibits, educational programs and special events complement efforts in schools, childcare centers and homes. With four main galleries, a toddlers-only gallery and more than 100 hands-on activities, Stepping Stones offers children ten and under plenty to explore and discover.
