We are seeking a friendly, tech-literate volunteer to assist our busy nonprofit with data entry, database management and filing.
This is a great position for someone with administrative experience who wants to learn more about working at a nonprofit. We will train you to use our database and systems. Volunteers gain invaluable experience in non-profit work, human resources and administrative work. We are required to keep detailed data about our programs, volunteers and clients so we can send accurate reports to our funders. You can be everyone's favorite person if you help input data for one of our programs.
If you want to volunteer for 3 or more months you can do a background check and be able to work with our administrative team on more long-term projects.
Volunteers play a key role in helping us connect interested, motivated community members with meaningful volunteer roles across Santa Cruz County. We provide training to use our database systems that include Salesforce, Filemaker and Excel.
Volunteer projects include:
-- Reviewing volunteer logs and confirming volunteer attendance
-- Reviewing entries for accuracy
-- Filing
--Some writing and editing to create quality volunteer opportunity descriptions
--Entering new volunteer opportunities into the Salesforce databasee
--Tag volunteer opportunities as Youth, Group or Senior appropriate
--Follow up with local nonprofits to ensure that volunteer postings are accurate.
Volunteer Shifts are flexible, but they are in person at our Live Oak office. After training for a few weeks some projects can be done from home.
