Volunteers will lead horses in our therapeutic riding lessons. Volunteering in our therapy program gives community members the unique opportunity to form connections with our therapy horses and clients/riders. Previous horse experience is required!

Ivy Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center creates therapeutic programs for individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional, behavioral and psychological needs utilizing the equine experience. At Ivy Hill, Horses + Love = Hope.

Description

What do we offer?
We offer customized horsemanship and therapeutic horseback riding instruction, as well as Hippotherapy (physical therapy utilizing the movement of the horse) to individuals of all ages with cognitive, emotional or physical challenges.

Why are therapeutic riding and hippotherapy benificial?
The interaction between humans and horses has recognizable therapeutic benefits. Many of our riders are referred to Ivy Hill from educators and medical professionals with the goal of achieving specific physical, emotional and cognitive accomplishments. Our specialized programs are designed for the needs of each rider and can facilitate a variety of positive achievements in areas such as physical, cognitive, and emotional.
