We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our international event planning team for an upcoming Global Education Fair, where we’ll showcase our innovative Medical Science and Engineering Academy to a diverse audience. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, work alongside industry experts, and make a significant impact on the educational landscape. By volunteering for 3 months, you’ll help create an engaging and memorable experience for attendees while showcasing the transformative potential of our innovation programming for students ages 7-17. Location: Remote

Time commitment - 6 hours/week

Description: As an Event Moderator for STEM Canada, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of our Global Education Fair. This position involves moderating live sessions, panel discussions, and Q&A segments, ensuring seamless transitions and engaging interactions with the audience. Your role is crucial in facilitating dynamic and interactive virtual events, enhancing the overall attendee experience, and showcasing innovative Medical Science and Engineering Academies to a global audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee live sessions, panel discussions, and Q&A segments during the Global Education Fair, ensuring that all aspects of the event proceed seamlessly.

Actively engage with participants, manage interactions, and address audience questions and comments to create an interactive and dynamic event experience.

Ensure smooth transitions between different segments of the event, including speaker introductions and session changes.

Collaborate with presenters and panelists to prepare for their sessions, ensuring they have the necessary support and information.

Keep an eye on technical elements such as audio, video, and streaming quality to prevent disruptions and resolve any issues promptly.

Gather and review feedback from attendees and participants to help refine future events and improve the overall experience.

Requirements:

Confident and clear communicator with experience in public speaking and presenting.

Strong facilitation skills to manage live interactions and maintain audience engagement.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including moderating discussions, addressing technical issues, and managing audience interactions.

Flexible and able to adapt to changing scenarios and unexpected challenges during live events.

Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with a remote team and interact with diverse participants.
