STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: Do you want to be part of a dynamic international STEM Canada YouTube production team? Are you passionate about creating compelling video content and eager to gain hands-on experience in the world of digital media? We invite you to showcase your skills and make an impact by volunteering for 4 months on our exciting new STEM Canada YouTube channel project. As a valued member of our team, you’ll collaborate with talented professionals, contribute to innovative content, and build a portfolio that stands out in the industry. Join us and turn your creativity into captivating stories that will reach audiences around the globe!

Key Responsibilities:

Make sure to carefully examine video content for technical problems like resolution, color precision, audio quality, and synchronization before it is released.

Make sure that videos comply with set quality standards and guidelines, such as aspect ratios, frame rates, and file formats.

Determine and solve technical problems in video files, such as issues with encoding, compression, and playback.

Offer thorough feedback to authors on needed changes or enhancements, and confirm that edits are made prior to finalizing approval.

Ensure that all videos are consistent in terms of branding, graphics, and overall style.

Keep detailed records of quality control procedures, including documenting problem reports and the results of resolving them.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Video Quality Control Specialist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and knowledge of YouTube’s video upload requirements.

Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative strategies.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.

Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and technical specifications.

Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
