ORGANIZATION: STEM Montessori Academy of Canada

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: Do you want to be part of a dynamic international STEM Canada YouTube production team? Are you passionate about creating compelling video content and eager to gain hands-on experience in the world of digital media? We invite you to showcase your skills and make an impact by volunteering for 4 months on our exciting new STEM Canada YouTube channel project. As a valued member of our team, you’ll collaborate with talented professionals, contribute to innovative content, and build a portfolio that stands out in the industry. Join us and turn your creativity into captivating stories that will reach audiences around the globe!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a thorough content strategy that is in line with the objectives of the channel, the preferences of the audience, and the current trends in the industry.

  • Perform research to grasp audience demographics, preferences, and viewing habits, utilizing findings to guide content choices.

  • Establish and oversee a content calendar for maintaining a steady publishing timeline and on-time release of videos.

  • Track and evaluate video performance data (such as views, watch time, engagement) to gauge the success of content strategies and provide recommendations based on data analysis.

  • Remain informed about industry trends, popular topics, and emerging formats in order to maintain the channel's relevance and engagement.

  • Collaborate closely with video producers, editors, and fellow team members to create content that aligns with strategic objectives and upholds high standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Content Strategist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

  • Solid grasp of YouTube's platform, algorithms, and optimal content strategies.

  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative strategies.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
