Do you have a talent for bringing broken or damaged items back to life? If so, please consider volunteering at one of the Library's Fix-It Clinics on Saturday, September 28.
At Fix-It Clinics, residents bring in small household objects, such as clothing, jewelry, lamps or stuffed animals and receive free assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot and fix these items. In doing so, people can save money by repairing still useful items as well as prevent these items from ending up in landfills.
Fix-It Clinics will be held at several library branches throughout the county, and all are in need of volunteer fixers. Some examples of the types of skills we are looking for are jewelry repair, small appliance andelectronics repair, and woven or knitted fabric mending. This is not an exhaustive list so if you have other repair skills, please let us know.
Minimum age to volunteer is 18, but there is no minimum age to bring in an item for repair.
