Want to support refugees in your community? In the last year, RefugeeOne has welcomed over 700 refugees from all over the world to Chicago - and we need your support to help them adjust to life in their new home!

Volunteers in our In-Home Adult Mentorship program will support an adult refugee (25+) as they build a life in Chicago! You will be matched 1:1 with a recently arrived refugee to support them in their transition to life in Chicago. Mentors help with a range of things, including:

  • Practicing English
  • Navigating the CTA
  • Developing community connections and accessing local resources
  • Sharing culture and hobbies
  • ...and more!

Most importantly, you'll serve as a friend and guide to a newcomer.

No additional languages skills required, flexible scheduling to match your availability.

Interested? Connect with us on VolunteerMatch or email Volunteer Coordinator Cate at volunteer@refugeeone.org!
