Overview: Looking for a fulfilling way to give back and support a student's academic growth? We are seeking Remote Volunteer Tutors to assist 9th-grade students with organization, study habits, and academic discipline. This opportunity is open to high school seniors, college students, and graduates looking to volunteer while gaining experience.
Duties Include:
- Ensure the student is regularly checking their school portal, email, and grades to stay updated on assignments and performance.
- Help the student build strong study habits by reviewing notes and preparing for tests.
- Provide structure and guidance in subjects like Algebra 1, Chemistry, Modern World History, Spanish 1, and English.
- Conduct virtual sessions via Zoom or Google Meet during evening hours, with a flexible schedule.
Schedule and Commitment:
- Flexible availability between September to December,7-9 PM, Monday to Friday, with the option to work other hours based on the student and tutor's availability.
- Tutors can volunteer for 1-5 days per week depending on their availability.
Why Volunteer? This role offers a chance to mentor a student who needs help staying organized and motivated in school. You’ll make a direct impact while developing your own leadership and tutoring skills.
Ideal Candidates:
- High school seniors, college students, or graduates with an interest in education, tutoring, or mentoring.
- Comfortable using online tools like Zoom and Google Meet.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to stay organized and succeed academically.
What You Need:
- A desire to help students succeed academically.
- Patience and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Prior tutoring or mentoring experience is helpful but not required.

Community Center & Sportsplex, is a 501c3 nonprofit academic, arts & athletic center for youth & families founded on Christian principles, and is dedicated to instilling in each member that they have been specifically chosen by God to do magnificent things! Located in the heart of Jackson, NJ, we specialize in improving the self esteem of youth and families in surrounding suburban as well as underrepresented and underprivileged communities, while promoting integrity and stewardship, and offering, to youth in our surrounding states from Maine to North Carolina, an innovative opportunity to train, excel, and compete academically, artistically, and athletically.
