Position Title: Event Support Volunteer
Organization: Community Hero Action Group (CHAG)
Location: Various event locations across southeastern Pennsylvania (primarily Philadelphia and Montgomery counties)
Reports to: Event Coordinator/Volunteer Manager

Position Overview:

Community Hero Action Group is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Event Support Volunteers to assist with the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of various events focused on public health, civic engagement, and community empowerment. Events include health fairs, conferences, workshops, and community outreach activities. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the success of our events, helping us meet our mission to address health disparities and foster economic stability within underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Setup & Breakdown: Assist with setting up tables, chairs, signage, and materials before the event and helping with cleanup and breakdown after.
  • Registration & Check-in: Greet attendees, assist with event check-in, distribute name tags, and provide general information.
  • Logistics & Coordination: Support event coordinators in ensuring smooth operations, such as managing schedules, assisting speakers or vendors, and helping with any on-site needs.
  • Attendee Assistance: Help direct attendees, answer questions, distribute materials (e.g., flyers, brochures), and provide general support.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Assist in organizing other volunteers, assigning tasks, and providing guidance as needed during the event.
  • Health Fair Support: Help facilitate health screenings, guide attendees to relevant health resources, and distribute educational materials.
  • Crowd Control & Safety: Help manage foot traffic, monitor safety protocols, and ensure the event environment remains secure and welcoming for all.
  • Photography & Social Media Support: Capture event highlights through photos or assist with real-time social media updates if interested.
Qualifications:
  • Passion for community service and public health advocacy.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (for event setup/breakdown).
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions for outdoor events.
Time Commitment:

Flexible scheduling depending on the event. Volunteers are expected to commit to at least one event (typically 4-6 hours), with opportunities for ongoing involvement at future events.
