National Public Lands Day 2024

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

In celebration of National Public Lands Day(NPLD), enjoy free entrance and join Gulf Islands National Seashore for trail and grounds maintenance cleanup! Volunteers will enjoy beautiful bayou views while they remove litter, protect native habitats, and minimize debris. We hope you'll come and participate in the volunteer service and stay for community!

Don't know what NPLD is? As a signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), NPLD is an annual event that fosters a strong connection between people and the environment, educating and cultivating environmental stewards. The theme for NPLD 2024 is "Together for Tomorrow," as volunteers of all ages and abilities roll up their sleeves and join forces for a common goal--stewarding America’s natural resources for future generations to enjoy.

What: Trail and Ground Maintenance

When: Saturday, October 5th from 9 -11 AM CDT. Check-in begins at 9AM.

This is a fun, family-friendly volunteer opportunity, and volunteers of all ages are welcome as we offer education, activities, and more on how to honor all things land, culture, and community. Participants are encouraged to expand their experience by participating in other opportunities in the park, whether part of the event or the park's scheduled programming.
