Bright Mind is an award-winning non-profit organization recognized for our innovative initiatives such as Wellness Week and Street Care. Our outreach has reached up to 60 million people, and we have been featured on CBS, Politico, ABC, and Newsweek. We are looking for passionate and versatile individuals to join our volunteer team. Position Overview

Bright Mind is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Education and Wellness Mentoring Volunteers. In this role, you will support our mission to provide quality educational resources and promote emotional and social wellness in under-served communities. You will work with our Educational Outreach team, in projects such as mentoring people in great need, supporting volunteers, and delivering educational and wellness programs.

Key Responsibilities/Projects include:
  • Mentoring Volunteers and at risk populations:

    • Provide crucial support to our in-the-field projects as an on-the-street educator for homeless families and individuals.

    • Mentor volunteers, team leads, and beneficiaries, offering social and emotional support to help them develop resilience and achieve personal goals.

    • Mentor and train volunteers and chapter coordinators, helping them to improve their outreach plus providing them with social and emotional support.

  • Program Delivery:

    • Assist in planning and delivering educational and wellness programs and workshops for individuals of all ages.

    • Facilitate interactive learning activities and engage students in hands-on educational experiences.

  • Educational Material Development:

    • Help create and update educational and wellness materials, including lesson plans, worksheets, and presentations.

    • Collaborate with the Educational Outreach team to ensure materials are culturally relevant, age-appropriate and supportive of emotional well-being.

  • Community Outreach:

    • Participate in community events and outreach efforts to promote educational programs and recruit students.

    • Engage with parents and community members to build support for educational initiatives.

  • Programmatic Support:

    • Assist with scheduling, communications with students, maintaining student and volunteer records, and other operational tasks.

    • Track program outcomes and report on the progress of educational and wellness initiatives.

  • Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience:

    • Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or working with children and youth is preferred but not required.

    • Experience in developing educational or wellness materials is a plus.

  • Education:

    • Relevant coursework or training in education, child development, psychology, or a related field is welcome.

Bright Mind is a community wellness education organization.
Bright Mind recently launched Street Care, a massive initiative built by our homelessness and wellness experts, 'your toolkit to help homeless people.' We have an app, an expanding series of informational materials and instructional videos (25+ already), and more (at streetcare.us). We are pioneering an online and on-the-streets outreach approach, accessible to everyone.
For all of Bright Mind's work, well-being, tenacity, curiosity, and creativity are the heart of the approach, to help individuals thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
