Uplifting Afghan Girls (UAG) is a nonprofit that was formed in May 2023 and is incorporated in NY state. UAG provides opportunities for Afghan young women to receive a world-class education in the US - an education the Taliban has denied. The exceptional young women in UAG’s program are artists, musicians, and aspiring scientists; the Taliban tried to limit every aspect of their lives but now their futures are unlimited!

UAG recieved 501(c)(3) status earlier this summer, and now we would like to begin applying for grants but we require the assistance from a professional grant writer who could help get us started. We'd love to find someone who has a proven track record of helping nonprofits obtain grants and who is also willing to use that expertise to assist our charity with our inital grant proposal. We hope you care deeply about girls' education too!

Mission Statement

Uplifting Afghan Girls (UAG) stands as a beacon of hope for gifted Afghan girls by providing them a pathway to a world-class education in the United States. Description

In the face of incredible adversity, hope shines brightly. Uplifting Afghan Girls (UAG) stands as a beacon of hope for gifted young Afghan women, providing them a pathway to a world-class education in the United States - an opportunity denied to them by the Taliban.

Our partnership with Afghan educational charities allows us to identify and nurture the talents of these remarkable young women, all of whom have found sanctuary in safehouses after the Taliban closed their boarding schools and orphanages. Together, we are breaking barriers and unlocking the potential of Afghanistan's future leaders.

But our mission doesn't stop at selection. With the support of generous private educational institutions in the US, we secure full scholarships covering tuition and fees for our students. We pave the way for their journey to the US, guiding them through the complexities of the F-1 visa application process and coordinating safe transit.

Once in the US, our dedication continues. We handpick host families who open their hearts and homes, providing a nurturing environment for our students to thrive. From after-school tutoring to medical care, from winter clothing to mental health support, we ensure that our students have everything they need to succeed.
