NPLD-Invasive Plant Removal at Prince WIlliam Forest Park

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Join us for National Public Lands Day! This is a month-long day of service supported by the National Environmental Education Foundation. Participating in this event will reward in a one-day, fee-free coupon to any National Park in the US that is valid for one year.

This event involves learning about the Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) in relation to invasive plant ecology and learning how to ID and remove linden viburnum (Viburnum dilatatum), an EDRR species in Prince William Forest Park. It is fruiting by this time, making the shrub easier to identify. Removing linden viburnum will support the Invasive Plant Management Team's efforts to contain and lessen the ecological impacts that it causes. Learn more about linden viburnum here.

Date: Saturday, September 21st.

Time: 10am-1pm.

Meeting Point: Picnic Tables by the Visitor Center Parking Lot

Tools and gloves will be provided for this event
