About AGU GIRLS INC

Location:

15800 E 121ST AVE UNIT P6, LOCHBUIE, CO 80603, US

Mission Statement

We started by teaming up with local organizations in Kenya and helped with reusable goods donations, youth programs and other volunteering opportunities. After seeing there was more work to be done we decided to start our own organization. Our team has been in operation since 2009 but we have become a licensed Non-profit in 2016. We continue to work domestically in the United States but have since extended our services to Kenya by opening up a school and daycare centre in Naivasha. Since its inception, AGU (All Grown Up...Becoming me) , a project under Sherri's Girls Empowerment, which is renamed (AGU GIRLS INC), has provided access to safe, hygienic menstrual products to more than 1000 girls.

Description

All Grown Up (AGU) is one part educational resource and one part practical toolkit. Our goal is simply to transform a girl’s experience of puberty from something that is awkward and embarrassing to something that is celebrated and empowering. The foundation of our program is an effective and convenient feminine hygiene kit specifically designed to minimize embarrassment and maximize education.

The AGU kits are perfect for girls who are experiencing menstruation for the first time, but they have great benefits for women of all ages. However, with the incidence of COVID-19, we are combining our activities with WASH as we sensitize the community.
