Roxborough Home for Women (RHW) is currently searching for the position of board member. This is a volunteer position for our nonprofit. Our mission is to provide affordable personal care to senior women of reduced financial means. RHW is over 137 years old and has been true to their stated mission since 1887. The Victorian home designed by Frank Furness and Evans is designated historic by the Phila. Historic Commission.

Volunteers with expertise in the area of business, finance, history, fundraising, construction management, and marketing are preferred. A passion for helping senior women is also preferred.

Description

Housed in a Victorian home designed by Frank Furness and Evan in 1887, Roxborough Home for Women is situated on 2 acres in a residential neighborhood. Each women has their own room and is provided with 3 meals/day, laundry services, transportation to local practitioner appointments, entertainment, activities, and outings. The home offers a sense of community for those who do not want to live alone due to emotional, physical, or financial reasons.
