Position Overview:
The IT and Developer Assistant Volunteer will provide essential support in prototyping, map development, app creation, and artificial intelligence projects and software development. This role involves assisting with the design, development, and implementation of technological solutions to enhance the organization’s capabilities. You will work closely with the development team to support various projects and help advance the organization’s technological initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prototyping: Assist in the creation of prototypes for new applications, tools, and features. Work with the development team to test and refine prototypes based on feedback and requirements.
- Map Development: Support the development and integration of mapping solutions. Assist in creating and maintaining interactive maps, spatial data analysis, and geolocation features.
- App Development: Contribute to the design and development of web and mobile applications. Help with coding, debugging, and testing to ensure functionality and user experience meet project goals.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): Assist with AI projects, including data collection, model training, and integration of AI features. Support the development and implementation of AI algorithms and tools.
- Technical Support: Provide support with technical issues related to development projects, including troubleshooting and resolving coding problems.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for development processes, prototypes, maps, and applications. Ensure that documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the development team and other stakeholders to align technology projects with organizational goals. Participate in meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in technology, including prototyping tools, mapping technologies, app development frameworks, and AI techniques. Suggest and implement new solutions where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Basic experience or coursework in software development, computer science, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java) and development tools.
- Understanding of prototyping tools and techniques, as well as experience with map development and geolocation technologies.
- Knowledge of mobile and web app development processes and frameworks.
- Basic experience with AI concepts, machine learning, or data analysis is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Commitment to supporting the organization’s mission and goals through technological innovation.
