Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager - Strategy Development & Business Planning will be integral in supporting the growth and sustainability of our organization. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, creating comprehensive strategies for increasing support, and developing partnerships that align with our artistic vision. As a volunteer, you will collaborate with our team to drive initiatives that enhance our organizational capacity, community engagement, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Identification: Research and identify potential funding sources, sponsorship opportunities, and strategic partners that align with our artistic mission.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies for fundraising, sponsorship, and partnership development, including crafting proposals and pitches. Create and refine long-term business plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Business Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of business plans that outline growth strategies, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Relationship Building: Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, art patrons, and community partners to increase engagement and support for our programs.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze trends and opportunities within the arts and cultural sectors to identify new avenues for growth and collaboration.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on business development activities, strategy progress, and outcomes for the leadership team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including artistic staff and volunteers, to ensure alignment with our mission and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and business plans, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business development, strategy development, or a related field, preferably within the arts or non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising, sponsorship acquisition, and partnership development.
  • Experience in creating and executing business plans and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software.
  • Passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting our mission and goals.
