The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) is seeking volunteers to help in our Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Psychiatry Clinic. This program supports individuals dually diagnosed with mental health and developmental disability challenges. The clinic staff provide consultations to support psychiatric providers and maintain a resource center to help individuals with disabilities and their families locate providers, programs, and services.

The volunteer in this role would help with the following:

· Update resource center information database and electronic folders

· Assist individuals/families in their search for needed providers and services

· Assist our clinicians by reviewing information to prepare for clinical consultations

· Attend clinical consultations and assist in report preparation

Flexible hours during the daytime business hours (M-F) with for a possible 10-15 hours/week, schedule to work around your existing commitments.

To be successful in this role you must be a:

Team Player - Ability to work well with a diverse staff; comfortable and respectful working with people from all walks of life

Customer Service Wiz - Capable of clearly communicating information, interacting with staff and guests, responding and resolving inquiries

People Person: Well spoken, enthusiastic, friendly and confident when engaging with staff and guests

Skills and Qualifications

    • Be at least 21 years or older to apply for an opportunity.
    • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and able to learn database systems quickly
    • HIPAA Compliance. Strong commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of private and personal information regarding online users.
    • Have reliable transportation.
    • Be able to clear all background checks and health screenings.
    • Be able to attend/complete all required trainings for the selected role.
    • Be able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
    • Be friendly, dependable and punctual.
    • This is an unpaid position.

Various positions are available throughout Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church. The times and days available are flexible and include some evening and weekend opportunities, as well as regular weekday hours. By providing direct service, administrative support, or participating in special projects, volunteers are valuable members of our team.
