SAGACITY Leadership Program for Young Women: Volunteer Support Needed!

The SAGACITY Leadership Program empowers young women aged 13-19 in Eugene, OR to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and find their unique voice. Through weekly sessions featuring workshops, guest speakers, and interactive activities, participants gain the tools they need to make a difference in their communities.

How You Can Help

1. Program Setup:

  • Event Coordination: Assist in organizing and setting up weekly sessions.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare materials and ensure everything is ready for each meeting.

2. Participant Support:

  • Onsite Assistance: Provide support during sessions, helping participants engage fully in activities.
  • Mentorship Matching: Aid in pairing participants with mentors who can guide their leadership journey.

3. Outreach & Promotion:

  • Community Engagement: Spread the word to ensure more young women can join the program.
  • Sponsorships & Resources: Help secure resources like food, prizes, and materials to enhance the program experience.

Mission Statement

At Simply Youth Institute (SYI), our mission is to increase confidence in young women ages 14-24, specifically those in underserved communities, by providing financial responsibility, career exploration, creative expression, and mentorship programs. Founded in 2019, SYI is dedicated to fostering the development of financial literacy, career readiness, and personal growth among transitional-aged youth aged 14-24 throughout Eugene, Springfield, and Los Angeles County.

We believe that every young individual deserves the freedom to define their own success and explore many opportunities. Our commitment is to create an inclusive environment where young people can thrive, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Who We Serve: Our primary focus is on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Peoples of Color) youth, multilingual learners, and those transitioning out of foster care. Recognizing these groups’ systemic barriers, we aim to provide them with the tools and support necessary to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
