OVERVIEW Asian Connections Hub (ACH) is a non-profit organization designing an online directory community space where diverse groups can coexist, connect, discover each other. Our mission and goal is to build community and bring people together by fostering collaboration, networking, and knowledge sharing. We aim to create a safe space for a broader diaspora, including mainland, immigrant, adoptee, indigenous individuals.

ROLE We are seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Volunteer Recruiter to join Asian Connections Hub. In this role, you will play a key role in identifying and attracting talented individuals who are passionate about building community and eager to contribute their skills and expertise to our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract volunteers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, leveraging various channels such as online platforms, social media, networking events, and community partnerships.

  • Collaborate with department heads and project managers to understand volunteer needs and requirements for specific roles and projects.

  • Create compelling job descriptions and recruitment materials that accurately reflect the responsibilities, qualifications, and benefits of volunteer positions.

  • Source, screen, and interview prospective volunteers to assess their skills, experience, and alignment with our organization's values and mission.

  • Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates, providing them with information about our organization, volunteer opportunities, and the benefits of volunteering with Asian Connections Hub.

  • Coordinate volunteer orientation sessions and onboarding activities in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator and HR team.

  • Track and maintain recruitment metrics and data to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement.

  • Represent Asian Connections Hub at recruitment events, job fairs, and community outreach activities to raise awareness and attract potential volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or related field preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse individuals and communities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, sourcing techniques, and recruitment tools and platforms.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to promoting well-being within diverse communities.

EXPECTATIONS

  • This is a volunteer role; we’re asking for 3-5 hours/week max to contribute no volunteer should be exceeding these hours without communication to their manager

  • Must attend meetings for HR meetings and 1:1s

  • Communication is key and participation is required to commit to the project
