Hope For Youth

The Mentorship program is, in many ways, the core of HFY’s programming, centering around creating deep and lasting, one-on-one relationships between our most committed youth and volunteers. Topics for this program include studies on the biblical view of family dynamics, gender roles, and Christ-centered relationships - all in an effort to prepare our youth for a satisfying and successful walk with Christ. Additionally, mentors get to know their youth well enough to help them address academic and social issues as well. This program uses large-group, small-group, and one-on-one time to build the relationships necessary for lasting change.

About Hope For Youth

Location:

PO Box 573024, Houston, TX 77257, US

Mission Statement

Hope For Youth (in Houston) is committed to "presenting every youth complete in Christ" (Col. 1:28) by providing activities and programs designed for at-risk urban youth, and Christian adult volunteers who build relationships with the youth. All activities and programs are designed to offer salvation to the youth, opportunities for Christian growth, encouragement to become involved in a church, and hope and help in the areas of education, leadership development and racial reconciliation.

Description

Hope For Youth ministers to at-risk urban youth, ages 12 to 19. Many of the youth either live or have lived at Houston's Star of Hope homeless shelter. Others live in government or low rent apartments. Hope for Youth offers a variety of opportunities for youth, including: weekend activities, weekly group discipleship, and a week long bible school in the summer.
