Cracker Box Palace at historic Alasa Farms provides shelter and sanctuary to farm animals, promotes the rich history of the area, and utilizes sound conservation and agricultural practices by education of and engagement with the community. As a model farm in the community, we embrace the values of compassion, respect, and perseverance.
Cracker Box Palace at Alasa Farms is a unique place. We are a special kind of animal shelter -- and much more besides that as well.
Cracker Box Palace is our large and farm no-kill animal shelter, the only one of its kind in the Wayne County area. We are a haven for farm animals who need shelter and care as they recover from illness, neglect or abuse. Our Large Animal Rescue Team works closely with the county and our local humane society to bring animals in need of shelter into a caring and supportive environment.
Our farm residents have the distinction of occupying a beautiful 640 acre tract of land, comprised of fields, forest, and historically significant buildings. Our hundreds of acres are ripe with opportunities to explore, with numerous marked trails through the forest and down to Second Creek as it heads into Sodus Bay. We offer wonderful opportunities to commune with nature and view local wildlife.
The farm has deep ties to the region's distinctive history. The entire site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
We offer our animals a caring and supportive environment. We offer the community the ability to visit our animals, to connect with the natural world, and to reflect on the area's interesting history.
