Summary of Department:

The People and Culture Team at Excelling Church plays a transformative role by focusing on leadership training and development, volunteer engagement, and fostering wellness. The team is responsible for onboarding, recruiting, people policies and procedures, and building and sustaining a healthy organizational culture. This department ensures a supportive, engaging, and mission-aligned environment.

Position Summary:

The Volunteer Recruiter is responsible for sourcing and recruiting volunteers for Excelling Church. This role involves managing the organization’s LinkedIn presence, establishing connections on volunteer boards and sites, creating a positive candidate experience, coordinating interviews, and managing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). The Volunteer Recruiter will work closely with the People and Culture Team to ensure a robust and engaged volunteer base.

Measurable Objectives:
  • Recruitment Targets: Successfully source and recruit at least 80% of the target number of volunteers within a specified period (e.g., quarterly or annually).

  • Candidate Experience: Achieve a 90% positive feedback rate from candidates regarding their recruitment and interview experience.

  • LinkedIn Engagement: Increase the organization’s LinkedIn follower count by 25% and enhance engagement with recruitment-related posts by 20%.

  • Volunteer Boards and Sites: Establish and maintain profiles on at least three volunteer boards or sites, with regular updates and engagement.

  • ATS Management: Ensure 100% of volunteer applications are processed through the ATS, with timely updates and communication to applicants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and Recruitment: Actively source and recruit volunteers using various channels including LinkedIn, volunteer boards, and community outreach.

  • LinkedIn Management: Manage and update the organization’s LinkedIn profile to attract potential volunteers and promote recruitment events.

  • Volunteer Boards: Establish and maintain a presence on volunteer boards and sites to increase visibility and attract candidates.

  • Candidate Experience: Create and implement processes to ensure a positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

  • Interview Coordination: Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and relevant team members, ensuring timely and efficient processes.

  • Applicant Tracking: Manage the Applicant Tracking System, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer applications and communications.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the People and Culture Team to align recruitment efforts with the church’s mission and needs.

  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on recruitment metrics, candidate feedback, and ATS management.

Qualifications:
  • Commitment to the Mission: Aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Excelling Church.

  • Recruitment Experience: Previous experience in recruiting or talent acquisition is desirable.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple recruitment activities and processes.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with LinkedIn, volunteer boards, and Applicant Tracking Systems.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in managing candidate information and recruitment processes.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the People and Culture Team.
