Volunteer to help lead an English conversation group at Oak Park Library!

Dynamic volunteers are needed to assist English language learners in a group setting weekly in the library's Conference Room. No past teaching experience or second language fluency is required. The goal is to have an informal gathering of people from the Oak Park community who are interested in practicing English with others.

Ventura County Library’s READ Adult Literacy Program helps adults improve their reading, writing, and English fluency skills so that they can perceive a positive impact on their lives in such areas as self-esteem, employment, family life, and community involvement. The library seeks dynamic volunteers to help launch a small group to practice with English Language Learners.
