Event Success Specialist
Note: This is an opportunity for flexible, part-time, volunteer work. All positions are remote/work-from-home. Must be fluent in English.
WhoWhatWhy is looking for a skilled and experienced Event Specialist to organize and manage our virtual and in-person events. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event planning and execution, particularly in nonprofit or media environments. This role requires someone who is highly organized, creative, and capable of handling all aspects of event management, from concept development to implementation.
Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute virtual and in-person events to support fundraising, awareness, and community engagement initiatives
Collaborate with the fundraising and communications teams to develop event strategies aligned with organizational goals
Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and scheduling.
Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability
Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to maximize event attendance and impact
Coordinate with speakers, panelists, and other event participants to ensure smooth execution
Analyze event performance and provide post-event reports, including attendee feedback and ROI analysis
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in a nonprofit or media environment
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Proficiency in event management software, virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Webex), and marketing tools
Strong project management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple events simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences
Innovative thinker with a strong sense of design and branding, capable of creating memorable event experiences
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, with a strong focus on detail and deadlines
