Help out at a used book pop up sale in Woodley Park
ORGANIZATION: Turning the Page
Please visit the new page to apply.
Carpe Librum will be popping up in Woodley Park for a fundraising book sale on Sunday, December 15! We will need volunteers to help us set-up the book sale (shelving books, etc.) and/or break down the tables and bookshelves for this fundraising event. This is a great opportunity to spend an hour or two supporting literacy and educational outcomes for DC public school students as all proceeds support Turning the Page. Turning the Page is an education non-profit that engages public school families for student success.
Can you lend a hand?
- The set-up shift is from 9am-10am, helping to set up books on shelves and tables.
- The pack-up shift is from 3:45pm-4:45pm, helping to break down the tables and pack up books.
- You'll be a great fit for this opportunity if you're comfortable working outside, and can bend, and reach higher shelves (boxes when full are 30 pounds though limited lifting needed).
If interested, sign up via VolunteerMatch and we will reach out with more details. Contact Anna at arobinson@turningthepage.org with any questions. If you’re interested in helping out at one of our other pop-up book sales around the city, you can view our sale calendar here: https://turningthepage.org/events/. Thank you!
We’re not just any bookstore: we’re a fundraising bookstore! Carpe Librum collects donated books, CDs, and DVDs to support the DC nonprofit Turning the Page.
