We are looking for individuals with a passion for harm reduction and interest in psychology. Interns will help with note-taking for groups, helping at the Therapeutic Front Desk (tasks such mail, explaining clinical paperwork procedure, greeting new clients as they come in), as well as helping on projects, such as assisting the Compliance Director or Internship Directors with tasks. This is NOT a coffee-running internship! We value your interest in clinical work and will work with you to curate your experience here.
Our focus at Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center is supporting our clients in their recovery journey by regaining control of their lives, regardless of their economic status. As an outpatient, "walk-in", behavioral addiction treatment center focused on harm reduction, we are committed to meeting our clients where they’re at and addressing the broader context of their lives, including education, employment readiness, interpersonal relationships, and social reintegration.
Located in a welcoming and brightly lit building in Chicagoland, we work to achieve this goal with over 22 different weekly process groups on innovative topics such as Learning to Love Yourself, SMART Recovery, and Rage Reduction, along with comprehensive social service support. We pride ourselves on welcoming every client with a smile and fostering a highly professional and compassionate environment. This is our quest, with an intended outcome of returning our clients to their birthright status of being responsible agents of their own destinies.
