Volunteer for Neuro-Adaptive Ping Pong Classes
ORGANIZATION: Neuro-Wellness Alliance
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are looking for Volunteers who may have Ping Pong experience or students who are in the healthcare or fitness field.
Great candidates have ping pong and/or fitness experience and/or students in physical therapy, kinesiology, nursing or other healthcare related field
If you do not have prior experience, we will train and educate qualified candidates.
Volunteers are needed in 3 areas: 1) Assist with setup/breakdown of ping pong tables about 10 min before and after each class.
2) Ball picker-upppers needed to pick up balls off the floor during each class. This is to prevent obstacles on the floor and so our members aren't risking a fall from bending over to pick up balls on the floor.
3) Ball Feeders. Experienced ping pong players who can assist our members with basic ping pong skills, techniques and drills as well as assist during game play.
You will be assisting those with Parkinson’s disease, Stroke Recovery or other neurological disorder who have balance issues and/or cognitive issues. You will be trained by our staff and learn how to properly work with our clients in the ping pong setting in a safe and effective manner.

Mission Statement
Neuro-Wellness Alliance is a nonprofit organization created to help those living with chronic, progressive neurological conditions to fight back through exercise programs such as boxing, ping pong and other wellness therapies. Our Neuro-Adaptive Fitness Programs are designed to target specific physical and cognitive aspects of Parkinson's, Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury to help our members live a better quality of life.
Description
Our exercise and wellness program for Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders was created in 2022 by Co-Founder Jennifer Parkinson who has lived with young onset Parkinson’s for over 19 years.
Our Neuro-Adaptive Boxing program has been successful in helping our members combat the symptoms of Parkinson's through high intensity exercise, strength and balance training, agility and coordination drills and cognitive retraining.
Our Ping Pong class for Brain Health helps improve focus, attention and improve memory skills and reaction time.
In the last 15 years, Jennifer has created multiple boxing fitness programs for Parkinsons and educated and trained health and fitness professionals to support them to create their own community based boxing programs for those with Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders.
Our goal is to create more community based programs such as our Boxing and Ping Pong wellness classes to make these programs more accessible to those in underserved areas and populations where there are very little support and resources.
