Mission Statement

We are musicians with a passion for Medieval and Renaissance music. We provide opportunities for people of all ages, races, and abilities to learn to play and perform music in small groups. We enrich our community with historic family-friendly programs of this rarely performed beautiful music integrating history, art, and music. Our mission extends to enhancing school programs by providing free and low-cost Recorder lessons to under-served children.

Description

We are primarily Recorder and String players with occasional addition of other period instruments and singers. Most people think the recorder is a toy for learning how to play "Hot Cross Buns", unaware that the recorder is an ancient instrument, in many sizes which match vocal ranges. There is so much music written for the recorders that it could hardly be played in a lifetime. We want to share the beauty of this music with others either to learn to play or to enjoy listening to. As an all volunteer organization, we are heavily dependent on volunteers to assist us in areas such as maintaining our music library, applying for grants, writing press releases, and editing videos.
