Elara Caring, one of the nation's largest providers of home-based and hospice care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life companionship to local hospice patients and their families. We are officially accepting in-person volunteers! This includes:
- Reading stories
- Making crafts
- Playing games
- Having a meaningful chat
- And providing emotional support for a patient as they navigate hospice care
Hours are very flexible! You can choose from weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Typically, we ask you to donate an hour of your time once a week.
The onboarding process includes a background check, TB test, and physical from at most 6 months ago to maintain compliance with the Illinois Department of Public Health.
