We are seeking a skilled and passionate Volunteer Nonprofit Web Developer with WordPress experience to join our team. As a Volunteer Web Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our nonprofit organization's website, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and effectively supports our mission. Your expertise in WordPress and web development will be essential in driving our online presence and engaging with our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain our WordPress website, ensuring it is updated, secure, and functioning optimally.
  • Assist in uploading, editing, and organizing website content, including blog posts, event listings, and other resources.
  • Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet the specific needs of our organization, enhancing website functionality and design.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and errors to ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Implement SEO best practices to improve the visibility and search engine ranking of our website.
  • Work closely with our communications and marketing teams to align website content with organizational goals and campaigns.
  • Continuously assess and improve the website's user experience, making it more accessible and engaging for our audience.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with WordPress, including theme customization, plugin management, and website optimization.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with the ability to create and modify web elements.
  • A good eye for design and user experience, with the ability to create visually appealing and functional web pages.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • A strong commitment to our nonprofit’s mission and the desire to contribute to making a positive impact.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with a virtual team.
