About PARTNERS FOR CHANGE TRI-VALLEY

Location:

4743 EAST AVE, LIVERMORE, CA 94550, US

Mission Statement

We are a community-based effort to empower people to chart their course out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency by intentionally creating personal relationships that bridge financial class lines.

Description

A community-based program that assists Tri-Valley families in achieving financial self-sufficiency. The individual or family is the Change Leader and sets goals for economic improvement. After completing a 14-20-week life skills course entitled Getting Ahead, Change Leaders are partnered with 2-4 volunteer mentors called Allies forming a support system.

The Circle meets regularly to build friendship and do the hard work required to achieve the Change Leader's goals for independence, which typically takes 18-24 months. Once the goal is met, Change Leaders are expected to contribute to the community in a step we refer to as Reciprocity completing the circle with action.
