Join us at the biggest block party around! Open Streets is a fun, educational event that is held in cities across the world. This year, the City of Fort Collins is holding Open Streets on Shield St on Sunday, Sept 15th.
Open Streets events aim to show participants that travelling by bike, foot, scooter, and other active, car-free transportation modes can be a fun and a healthy alternative to driving. Activities from local businesses are located throughout the event route to encourage movement along the entire route. Participants can find activities which include live music, local food trucks, health and wellness inspired activities, and participant-made art!

Mission Statement
FC Moves is a department within the City's Planning, Development, and Transportation Service Area that exists to advance mobility solutions to increase walking, bicycling, transit use, shared and environmentally sustainable modes.
Description
Fort Collins has been designated, by the League of American Bicyclists, a Bicycle Friendly Community since 2003. In the spring of 2013, the city received a Platinum designation, joining the ranks of only 3 other communities in the U.S.: Boulder, CO, Davis, CA, and Portland, OR. In 2017, Fort Collins was re-designated as a Platinum Bicycle Friendly Community.
In late 2012, the League raised the bar for the Bicycle Friendly America program and created a Diamond level designation in an effort to create communities that can compete on an international level. Moving forward, the FC Bikes program seeks to improve cycling in Fort Collins for people of all ages and abilities through education, encouragement, enforcement, engineering and evaluation efforts in order to earn the Diamond designation!
