Route Support and Gear Driver Volunteers needed for MS: Waves to Wine 9/14-9/15

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National MS Society - California

logo

The Ms Society will be holding its annual MS;Waves to Wine 2-day cycling fundraiser the weekend of September 14-15th. We are in need of Route support and gear drivers along our route for our cyclists.

You would drive the route between designated rest stops, ensuring the riders are safe. If a rider became injured, had a bike malfunction or was too tired, you would pick the rider and their bike up and move them to the next rest stop.

You would be trained, be in constant contact with our command center, and be given the supplies you would need to be effective in this role i.e. first air kit, bike tubes, snacks.

If this sounds like fun, which it is, here is where you sign up: https://nmss.galaxydigital.com/need/detail/?need_id=950873

Mission Statement

The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of MS.

Description

Founded in 1946, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society supports more MS research, offers more services for people with MS, provides more professional education programs, and furthers more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world.

We do this through the extensive research we support to find the cause, cure and improved treatments of the disease; the comprehensive services we provide to people with MS and their families; the professional education programs we offer to assist health care providers better serve their MS patients; and through our advocacy efforts on state and federal levels to encourage public policies supportive of the needs of people with multiple sclerosis. This is why we at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society are here.

Volunteers are vital to the work of the National MS Society. We welcome volunteers with a wide range of talents and skills. There is only one requirement: to want to do something about MS NOW. Your valuable skills and fresh perspectives will make the Society a stronger and better organization. There are so many ways to contribute, whether through advocacy, programs, fund-raising or special projects. We can always use your help.
