Patient Care volunteers are assigned to a patient as recommended by their care team, which consists of clinical staff, such as their nurse, and social services staff, such as their licensed medical social worker. Our volunteers provide companionship and support to our patients in-home, in assisted living facilities, and in nursing homes. Patients enjoy socializing with our volunteers, as well as reading books, playing games, solving puzzles, and more. Many patients aren’t able to go out and socialize with others on their own, so our volunteers can bring the socialization to them! Volunteers are an integral part of our care team because they bring joy and light to the lives of our patients.
